Role Overview
The Senior Manager for IT Assurance at Deloitte Consulting is responsible for leading and overseeing IT Audit and Assurance engagements. The role ensures the delivery of high-quality, value-added services to clients by developing and implementing audit programmes that address key IT risks, evaluating the effectiveness of IT controls, and providing actionable recommendations for improvement. You will be expected to mentor team members, drive innovation through automation and data-driven techniques, and support business development initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Engagement Management: Support the Assurance Partner in delivering engagements and managing deliverables.
- Audit Leadership: Lead IT Audit/Assurance engagements from planning through execution, ensuring quality and timeliness.
- Risk Assessment: Develop audit programmes for IT governance, data privacy, cybersecurity, and emerging technologies.
- Control Evaluation: Assess IT control design and effectiveness and provide improvement recommendations.
- Client Collaboration: Work closely with clients to understand business objectives and tailor audit solutions.
- Innovation & Digital Transformation: Drive the use of automation and data-driven techniques within the assurance team.
- Team Development: Mentor and coach team members, providing performance feedback.
- Business Growth: Identify market opportunities and contribute to go-to-market strategies and proposal preparation.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Studies, Actuarial Science, Cyber Risks, or equivalent.
- Experience: Minimum of 7 years’ experience in IT Audit, Assurance, or Risk Assessment.
- Leadership: Demonstrated experience managing dynamic IT audit/assurance teams.
- Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of frameworks like COBIT, NIST, SOX, and GDPR.
- Sector Experience: Professional services experience (e.g., Big 4 or consulting firms) is highly advantageous.
- Certifications: Professional qualifications such as CISA, CIA, ISMS Lead Auditor, or Cybersecurity certifications are preferred.
- Communication: Excellent report writing, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
