Senior Manager, DFS Configurations

Role Overview

The Senior Manager, DFS Configurations is a strategic leadership position responsible for overseeing the strategy, budget, and delivery of Core Mobile Money Systems across Equity Bank's subsidiaries. This role involves managing the configuration of Digital Financial Services (DFS) platforms to ensure they are high-performing, secure, and cost-effective. A primary objective is to standardize configurations across all subsidiaries and establish a Centre of Excellence for DFS Core Platforms.

Key Responsibilities

Technical & Operational Leadership

• Provide guidance and leadership in the configuration of Core DFS Platforms.
• Ensure the efficient implementation of Core Mobile Money systems within defined timelines, emphasizing quality, performance, and reliability.
• Manage configurations across all subsidiaries and promote the re-use of common functionality to reduce costly Change Requests.
• Lead teams including DFS Managers and other direct reports to achieve technical delivery goals.

Strategic & Financial Management

• Develop and implement the overall Core DFS Platforms strategy aligned with long-term business objectives.
• Oversee strategic initiatives including infrastructure upgrades, capacity planning, and technological advancements.
• Develop and manage the Core Platforms DFS budget (OPEX and CAPEX), identifying cost-saving opportunities and efficiency improvements.
• Lead long-term planning for platform expansions, new features, and upgrades to ensure scalability and sustainability.

Risk, Compliance & Audit

• Ensure system compliance with industry standards (e.g., PCI DSS, ISO) and regulatory requirements across all regions.
• Oversee the development of risk management and disaster recovery plans.
• Ensure systems are designed and implemented securely according to organizational policies.
• Manage internal and external audits, coordinating preparation activities and addressing findings to mitigate risks.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Education: University degree in Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum 7 years of experience in FinTech Systems, specifically within strategy and operational leadership.
• Technical Expertise: Proven experience with Huawei DFS (Mobile Money) Platforms and architecture. A mandatory background in Software Development is required.
• Certifications: IT certifications in system architecture, cloud technologies, Agile methodologies, and containerization.
• Leadership: Proven track record in managing large-scale Mobile Money/FinTech teams and complex stakeholder environments.
• Skills: Strong understanding of API integration, project management, financial acumen, and strategic thinking.
