Tom Mboya University is seeking a qualified and experienced Senior Lecturer in the field of Civil Engineering. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the academic excellence of the institution through teaching, research, and postgraduate supervision. This role involves delivering high-quality lectures, conducting impactful research, and mentoring the next generation of engineers.
Key Responsibilities
Teaching and conducting research in the field of Civil Engineering at the university level.
Supervising postgraduate students (Master's and PhD) through to the completion of their degrees.
Contributing to the development of the curriculum and academic programs within the department.
Publishing scholarly work in refereed journals and participating in academic conferences.
Engaging in administrative duties and committee work as assigned by the university management.
Requirements for Appointment
An earned Ph.D or equivalent degree qualification in Civil Engineering or a relevant field from an accredited and recognized university.
At least three (3) years teaching / research experience at the university level as a lecturer/Research Fellow or six (6) years research / industry experience.
A minimum of thirty-two (32) publication points as a Lecturer or equivalent, of which at least twenty-four (24) should be from refereed scholarly journals.
Supervised a minimum of three (3) post-graduate students to completion as a Lecturer or equivalent.
Registered with the relevant professional body (where applicable).
