Job Description
As a Senior Infrastructure Solution Architect at Absa Bank Limited, you will be responsible for the technical solution design and implementation verification of various components within the solution architecture. This role requires a high level of in-depth expertise and involves close collaboration with technical Subject Matter Experts (SMEs). You will be instrumental in preparing artifacts for operational handover and ensuring that stakeholders are informed about potential threats or misalignments in solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Focus on technical solution design and implementation verification of various solution architecture components.
Collaborate closely with relevant technical SMEs to ensure solution alignment.
Prepare technical artifacts required for smooth operational handovers.
Inform stakeholders about potential threats, technical risks, and misalignment of solutions.
Identify areas for infrastructure improvement and optimization.
Minimum Skills & Experience Required
Experience: A minimum of 8 years in Infrastructure Architecture and/or infrastructure solution design, preferably within a banking or similar large corporate environment.
Technical Proficiency:
In-depth knowledge of server hardware and virtualization technology.
Proficiency in server operating systems, specifically RHEL and Windows Server.
Expertise in storage systems including SAN and IP Storage.
Knowledge of data center networking concepts such as DNS, GSLB, and IP Routing.
Familiarity with enterprise-grade networking technologies.
Storage Technologies: Experience with IBM Flash Storage, Pure Storage, and Dell PowerScale (Isilon) ECS, PowerFlex.
Hybrid Cloud: Hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, VMware, Azure Local, RedHat OpenShift, Nutanix, or HCS (Huawei Cloud Stack).
Business Analysis: Experience in gathering business and application requirements and translating them into architecture/design artifacts.
Desired Skills
Kubernetes experience is highly advantageous.
Cloud certifications (AWS, Azure, GCP) are preferred.
Education
Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or a related field.
