The role of Senior ICT Officer, Data Centre Services is critical for maintaining and managing the data center infrastructure and associated services within the Judicial Service Commission (JSC). This position demands expertise in managing IT infrastructure, operating systems, configurations, and IT applications and service processes in both on-premises and cloud-based environments.
Job Requirements: Academic and Professional Qualifications
For appointment to this grade, the applicant must have:
- A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Technology, Informatics, Computer Science & Technology, Information Systems, Business Information Technology (BBIT), Computing Science and Technology, Computer Security and Forensics, or an equivalent qualification from a recognized Institution.
- Possess at least two (2) Professional certifications in service management, for example, ITIL or equivalent.
- Be a member of a recognized professional body.
- Meet the requirements of Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution (on leadership and integrity).
- A course in senior management or its equivalent from a recognized institution.
Experience
Candidates must demonstrate the following experience:
- Served for a minimum of three (3) years at the grade of ICT Officer I (Data Centre (DC) Engineer, System Administrator, Network Engineer), JSG 5, or in a comparable position.
- Experience in the IT / IS infrastructure, operating systems, configurations, and the IT applications and service processes.
- Proficiency in understanding infrastructure architecture, the frameworks and principles on which networks, systems, equipment, and resources are based, both on-premises and cloud-based.
- Proficiency in understanding the principles and application of cloud/virtualization (including ownership, responsibilities, and security implications) and the use of tools and systems to manage virtualized environments. Examples include, but are not limited to: Server/desktop virtualization and SDDC (Software Defined Data Centre).
