The role of Senior Digital Content Strategist & Editor at Standard Group is a full-time, on-site position based in Nairobi County, Kenya. The Standard Group comprises The Standard newspapers, The Nairobian, KTN, KTN News, Radio Maisha, Standard Digital and Think Outdoor Services.
This role involves developing and leading comprehensive digital content strategies, overseeing content management across digital platforms, collaborating with various teams to produce and edit high-quality content, and ensuring optimal website content performance. The successful candidate will be tasked with creating engaging, well-researched digital content and ensuring strict alignment with organizational goals, audience needs, and industry standards.
Responsibilities
- Develop and lead robust content strategies.
- Oversee end-to-end content management processes.
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to produce and edit digital content.
- Ensure optimal website content performance through strategic placement and optimization.
- Create engaging, well-researched digital content that adheres to high professional standards.
- Ensure all content aligns strictly with organizational goals, audience needs, and prevailing industry standards.
Qualifications and Experience
- A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Communications, Journalism, Media Studies, or a related field.
- Expertise in Content Strategy and Content Management to plan, execute, and evaluate digital content effectively.
- Skills in Content Development, Web Content Writing, and general Writing to produce clear, engaging, and professional materials.
- Proven ability to analyze audience needs and trends to shape effective digital content strategies.
- Strong organizational skills and proficiency in managing multiple projects and teams simultaneously.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate across various departments and stakeholders.
- Experience in digital publishing or a related field is highly advantageous.
