Africa Global Logistics (AGL), a leading multimodal logistics operator in Africa and part of the MSC family, is looking for a Senior Construction Project Manager based in Nairobi. The role involves acting as the Project Owner's representative for the construction of a logistics platform exceeding 40,000sqm, including associated yards and facilities. The manager will oversee all project phases, ensuring that the work is executed on time, within budget, and meets technical specifications while defending the project owner's interests at every stage.
Key Responsibilities
Overall Project Management: Lead the project from start to finish, ensuring timely execution and adherence to budget constraints.
Design & Authorizations: Conduct detailed design reviews and manage all necessary authorizations, liaising with external authorities and internal stakeholders.
Tender Management: Oversee the construction phase tendering process with support from the Project Management Consultant (PMC).
Site Supervision: Manage the works phase, monitor progress, supervise the PMC, and coordinate between contractors and the project owner.
Contract Administration: Handle technical, administrative, and financial management of works contracts, utilizing FIDIC standards.
Project Closing: Review the delivery phase, manage the punch list closure, and monitor the final commissioning phase.
Requirements and Qualifications
A degree in a relevant field (BA/BSc/HND).
15+ years of professional experience, primarily in managing large-scale construction projects involving civil and MEP works.
Proven track record within construction companies or project management roles.
Strong expertise in FIDIC contracts management.
Experience with international tendering processes and technical-financial negotiations.
Significant experience in Africa is considered a major asset.
