Senior Backend Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs.
• Own and manage core business logic and system integrations.
• Ensure system performance, security, and reliability across all backend services.
• Review code, enforce engineering standards, and maintain best development practices.
• Mentor and guide junior backend engineers to support their technical growth.
• Support production deployments and troubleshoot incidents when necessary.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver new product features and improvements.
• Contribute to system architecture decisions and continuous platform improvements.

Required Skills & Experience

• Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience with Laravel/PHP frameworks or similar backend technologies.
• Technical Proficiency: Experience building and maintaining RESTful APIs and strong knowledge of database management (MySQL or PostgreSQL).
• Infrastructure: Experience with Docker and cloud-based deployments.
• Security: Understanding of system security, authentication, and data protection practices.
• Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt quickly in dynamic environments.
• Community: Active participation or a strong network within developer or programming communities.
• Added Advantages:

Qualifications

• A degree in BA/BSc/HND.
