HR Fleek is seeking a highly qualified Senior Associate to join its Real Estate Banking and Finance (RBF) practice. This role is designed for a legal professional with significant experience in managing complex real estate and financial transactions independently while providing guidance to junior team members. The successful candidate will work with high-profile clients, including banks, financial institutions, and property developers, ensuring high standards of legal service and commercial awareness.
Key Responsibilities
Matter Management: Independently manage client matters and provide professional supervision to junior lawyers.
Real Estate Transactions: Handle complex real estate transactions, conveyancing, and property development projects, including those involving sectional properties.
Due Diligence: Conduct thorough land-related due diligence to identify and mitigate risks for clients.
Financial Advisory: Provide expert advice on banking, finance, securities, and lending transactions.
Security Perfection: Oversee the perfection of securities and ensure strict adherence to regulatory compliance requirements.
Documentation: Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of transactional documents, including facility agreements, charges, leases, and joint venture agreements.
Client Relations: Manage and strengthen relationships with institutional clients such as banks and property developers.
Qualifications and Experience
An LL.B Degree with at least Second-Class Upper Division from a recognized university.
At least Five (5) to Seven (7) years of relevant post-admission experience in a reputable law firm.
Proven ability to manage client matters independently, including supervision of junior lawyers.
Demonstrated integrity, sound judgment, and keen attention to detail.
Demonstrate commercial awareness.
Demonstrated experience in real estate transactions, conveyancing, property development including sectional properties, and land-related due diligence.
Strong advisory skills in banking, finance, securities, and lending transactions, including perfection of securities and regulatory compliance.
Proven experience acting for banks, financial institutions, and property developers.
Ability to draft, review, and negotiate transactional documents, including facility agreements, charges, leases, and joint venture agreements.
Familiarity with real estate investment structures and project financing will be an added advantage.
