As one of the largest insurers and financial services companies in East Africa, ICEA Lion Group is seeking a Senior Associate, Portfolio Administrator. The Senior Associate, Portfolio Administrator oversees the team's day-to-day operations, tracks progress towards goals, and ensures overall scheme compliance in line with regulatory requirements, risk management, and internal audit protocols.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the team's day-to-day operations, track progress towards goals, and report results to management.
- Ensure overall scheme compliance in line with regulatory requirements, risk management, and internal audit.
- Ensure service level agreements and deed of adherence for all employers are executed and filed respectively with the regulator.
- Ensure compliance with the Trust Deed & Rules, regulatory requirements as laid down by regulatory bodies including Retirement Benefits Authority (RBA), Kenya Revenue Authority (Income Tax), Capital Markets Authority (CMA), Unclaimed Financial Assets Authority (UFAA), and self-regulating bodies such as Association of Retirement Benefits Schemes (ARBS).
- Coordinate with the client and scheme service providers (Trustee, fund managers, actuary, and auditors) to ensure smooth and timely processing of tasks.
- Ensure accurate and complete member records are in place.
- Validate and process contributions from the sponsor.
- Ensure statements to members are generated and dispatched promptly as laid down in the SLA.
- Ensure computations of members' withdrawal benefits are done correctly and in a timely manner.
- Track participating employers with outstanding contributions on a month-to-month basis.
- Ensure timely quarterly submission of accurate reports to the regulator, the RBA.
- Calculate individual transfer and total surrender values of scheme winding up.
- Liaise with auditors and other service providers for smooth audit processes.
- Attend Management Committee meetings on administration issues as required.
- Constantly review and recommend systems and processes enhancements/development.
- Ensure enquiries from intermediaries and clients are addressed fully and promptly.
- Assist in preparation of management reports for monthly meetings.
- Execute any other duties assigned from time to time.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor Degree in Commerce, Mathematics, Statistics or related discipline from a reputable university.
- Professional qualification(s) in Finance e.g. CPA (K), ACCA or equivalent is considered an added advantage.
- At least six (6) years of experience in retirement benefits/schemes administration.
