Job Description
The Makueni County Public Service Board is seeking to recruit qualified and competent individuals for the position of Senior Assistant Director of Pharmaceutical Services/ Pharmaceutical Specialist I, specifically as an Oncology Pharmacist. This senior role is critical in providing specialized clinical pharmacy services within the county's healthcare facilities, focusing on the management and treatment of cancer patients.
Responsibilities
Provide specialized clinical pharmaceutical care to oncology patients.
Oversee the procurement, storage, and preparation of chemotherapy drugs and other oncology-related medications.
Offer technical advice on pharmaceutical matters to the department and healthcare teams.
Lead and manage pharmaceutical staff and services within assigned facilities.
Ensure compliance with the Pharmacy and Poisons Board regulations and other health standards.
Participate in the development and implementation of strategic pharmaceutical policies and programs.
Monitor patient response to therapy and collaborate with medical doctors on treatment adjustments.
Requirements for Appointment
Bachelor of Pharmacy (B Pharm) degree from an institution recognized by the Pharmacy and Poisons Board.
Master's degree in either Clinical Pharmacy or Tropical and Infectious Diseases from an institution recognized by the Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board.
Certificate of Registration as a Pharmacist by the Pharmacy and Poisons Board.
Valid practicing license from the Pharmacy and Poisons Board.
Certificate in Strategic Leadership Development Programme (SLDP) lasting not less than six (6) weeks from a recognized institution.
Certificate in computer application skills from a recognized institution.
Mandatory Clearance Documents

Credit Reference Bureau (CRB).
The Higher Education Loans Board (HELB).
The Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA).
The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC).
