Agro-Chemical and Food Company Limited (ACFC) is seeking a Senior Accountant to assist in managing financial operations, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, and maintaining accurate financial records. The officer at this level will be responsible for reconciling subsidiary ledgers, managing audits, and overseeing the ERP system within a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Ledger Management: Assist in managing, updating, and reviewing subsidiary ledgers and reconciling them to the general ledger.
Reconciliations: Ensure supplier and customer accounts are reconciled on a monthly basis.
Internal Controls: Ensure proper management of cash through the implementation of robust controls.
Statutory Compliance: Ensure tax compliance in all operations and assist in preparing annual statutory financial statements and accounts.
Audit Management: Manage statutory audits and implement agreed-upon audit recommendations.
Asset Management: Update and maintain the fixed asset register.
ERP Oversight: Manage and monitor the company's ERP system.
Debt Management: Maintain books of debtors and debt accounts, monitor payments, update records, and periodically reconcile accounts.
Requirements
Education and Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Commerce (Accounting or Finance option), Business Administration (Accounting option), or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Chartered Accountant (ACCA) or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
Proficiency in computer applications.
Must fulfill the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya.
Experience
At least four (4) years’ work experience in Finance/Accounting specifically within the manufacturing sector.
