Africa Global Logistics (AGL), a leading multimodal logistics operator in Africa and part of the MSC family, is seeking a Security Supervisor for KBL Warehouse Management in Nairobi. This role is essential for maintaining the safety and security of the warehouse operations, cargo, and personnel.
Key Responsibilities
Security Guard Oversight: Manage the rotation of sub-contracted security guards and coordinate recruitment screening with selected security companies to ensure high standards.
Incident Management: Log all reported incidences in the occurrence book, report them to the relevant authorities, and ensure proper follow-up action is taken.
Law Enforcement Liaison: Work closely with the local police on any alleged intrusions or issues involving company/client cargo and follow cases through to their conclusion.
Procedural Compliance: Enforce security procedures for all employees and clients within the premises to ensure a safe environment.
Access and System Monitoring: Ensure all access points and control rooms are consistently manned. Monitor physical security barriers, alarms, and CCTV systems to ensure they are in good working condition.
Asset Protection: Maintain safe custody and records of all main door keys. Verify that all items leaving the premises have the necessary authorization documents and gate passes.
Problem Resolution: Proactively identify and resolve issues within security procedures to maintain site integrity.
Strategic Planning: Monitor and implement security plans at work sites in compliance with client requirements, and execute emergency evacuation plans as necessary.
Reporting: Conduct internal inspections and report any non-compliance or deficiencies directly to the Manager.
Client Relations: Act as the primary interface with the client's security management team.
Qualifications and Requirements
Education: A BA/BSc/HND degree in a relevant field.
Experience: While the specific duration is not mandated, candidates should be familiar with security supervision and warehouse safety protocols.
Technical Knowledge: Proficiency in handling security hardware such as CCTV, alarms, and physical fencing systems.
Leadership: Ability to lead and manage sub-contracted security personnel.
Skills: Strong reporting, investigative, and emergency planning skills.
