As a Sea Logistics Sales Representative (FS-VS), you will be a key member of our Customer Care Locations and Teams. Your primary focus is to win new customers, particularly in the small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) segment, and to develop new business for Full Container Loads (FCL) and Less than Container Loads (LCL). Working closely with the Sea Logistics Team, your goal is to provide an extraordinary customer experience, which is vital to the success of Kuehne+Nagel’s Roadmap 2026 and Vision 2030.
Responsibilities
Identify potential customers through internal and external sources and reach out via multiple communication channels, including cold calls and social media.
Conduct online and face-to-face meetings with prospects to build trust and professional relationships.
Provide transparency regarding the growth potential of accounts and prospects within the CRM software.
Build and maintain a strong pipeline of opportunities to achieve personal and company growth targets.
Act as a consultant for customers, providing insights on sea freight market developments and creating end-to-end solutions using Kuehne+Nagel’s services and the myKN platform.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders and utilize pricing software to provide accurate quotations and make informed pricing decisions.
Support the implementation of new and additional business in coordination with the Customer Care Team.
Research market potential and share customer feedback with internal stakeholders to improve service delivery.
Ensure all relevant customer information and sales activities are meticulously documented in the CRM software.
Monitor transport volumes (booked, shipped, and invoiced) for your accounts using sales visibility tools.
Foster collaboration and share best practices with other Sea Logistics Sales Representatives.
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor’s or First University Degree in Sales, Marketing, Economics, or Business Administration from a reputable institution.
A minimum of two (2) years of professional work experience as a sales representative within the Clearing & Forwarding or Logistics industry.
Advanced computer literacy.
Fluency in both English and Kiswahili.
Willingness to travel within the assigned area of responsibility.
Must have a valid driving license and a personal vehicle.
Demonstrated hunger and determination to acquire and grow new customer accounts.
A proactive, hands-on mentality.
Ability to establish trust with both internal and external decision-makers.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
