Brainston Kindergarten is a Private School offering the 2.6.6.3 Competency Based Curriculum (CBC). The Music Teacher is responsible for delivering engaging, high-quality music education that nurtures students’ musical skills, creativity, and appreciation of diverse musical traditions, in line with the school’s international curriculum and values.
Duties and Responsibilities
Plan and deliver music lessons aligned with the school’s curriculum and international education standards.
Teach practical and theoretical aspects of music, including singing, instrumental performance, rhythm, notation, and music appreciation.
Prepare students for performances, concerts, assemblies, and school events.
Assess, record, and report on students’ progress and achievement.
Create a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment.
Integrate music technology and a variety of teaching resources into lessons.
Support extracurricular music activities such as choirs, bands, and clubs.
Collaborate with other teachers and contribute to school activities and events.
Communicate effectively with parents regarding student progress.
Uphold school policies, safeguarding standards, and professional conduct.
Qualifications and Experience
A Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Music Education or a related field.
Must be registered with and have a TSC Number.
Minimum of 3 years’ teaching experience in a school setting.
Ability to play one or more musical instruments is highly desirable.
Able to teach other key subjects and be computer literate.
