As a Sales Trainee at DHL, you will be responsible for administering sales sub-function plans and processes to deliver business growth, profitability, and enhance customer retention for a defined area or territory. This role is aligned with the business strategy, financial objectives, and Group guidelines. You will gain commercial exposure by participating in customer meetings, joint sales visits, and learning the quotation and negotiation process.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Administration: Administer sales plans covering forecasts, revenues, costs, and budgets for a defined territory.
Plan Implementation: Support the administration of sales, marketing, customer retention, advertising, pricing, and distribution plans for the area.
Commercial Development: Strengthen commercial exposure through participation in customer meetings and negotiations.
Pricing Management: Assist in formulating concepts for pricing policies, monitor profitability against targets, and manage price re-negotiations.
Reporting and Analysis: Perform reconciliation of sales, revenues, and costs against forecasts to identify problem areas. Identify improvement areas based on pipeline reporting in collaboration with sales effectiveness teams.
Market Research: Research market trends and customer requirements to help translate services into solutions that meet client needs.
Strategy Support: Coordinate the implementation of customer strategies, contract negotiations, cross-selling activities, and supply chain management processes.
Support Tools: Administer sales support processes and tools to ensure the effectiveness of the sales force.
Stakeholder Engagement
Explain facts, policies, and practices related to the sales job area.
Interact primarily with colleagues within the same sub-function.
Develop a network of contacts to build relationships and strengthen organizational, product, and market knowledge.
Requirements and Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience/qualification.
Experience: Less than 2 years of relevant experience.
Attributes: Strong interest in sales and logistics, analytical mindset, and excellent communication skills.
