Role Overview
Spinners & Spinners Limited ("S&S") is a heritage company established in 1979, operating as a vertically integrated design and manufacturing facility of Textile Product Solutions in Kenya. We are seeking a dynamic Sales Representative to drive business growth, acquire new customer partners, and manage relationships within the Central Kenya region. The ideal candidate will have extensive market knowledge of the region and a proven track record in B2B sales.
Core Responsibilities
Customer Prospecting, Acquisition & Market Expansion
- Utilize first-hand knowledge and network-building skills specifically for the markets in Central Kenya (Kiambu, Kirinyaga, Nyeri, Embu, Meru, Isiolo, Laikipia, Muranga, and Tharaka-Nithi).
- Prospect and acquire Key Customer partners in the B2B channel aligned with the growth requirements of expansion and turnaround business units.
- Execute acquisition targets actively.
Relationship Management
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with customers to generate trust.
- Effectively market and communicate the story of our brands, products, and services (existing and new).
- Keep customers engaged through regular virtual and in-person interactions.
Customer-wise Sales Growth & Forward Planning
- Manage primary wholesalers, importers, and agents.
- Monitor key account performance to drive business optimization and growth in product range, variety, and frequency.
Order Processing & Fulfillment Planning
- Ensure timely placement of orders into the system.
- Maintain collaborative communication with relevant internal teams.
- Proactively share information with customers and develop fulfillment plans.
Market Insights & Learnings
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of consumers, customers, markets, competitors, and opportunities.
- Provide the company with sales intelligence to maintain market leadership.
- Leverage local culture and understand customer business pain points and growth areas.
Differentiation & Innovation
- Innovate offerings through customer and consumer-driven insights.
- Proactively drive and commercialize new offerings in the market.
Brand Positioning & Distribution
- Execute sales and distribution plans for all business units in the focus regions.
- Drive brand awareness and loyalty through localized value propositions.
Key Deliverables
- Achieve year-round active business activity in Central Kenya.
- Drive 20% Year-on-Year (YoY) growth for Expansion business units and 10% YoY growth for Turnaround units.
- Execute growth strategies for 40 Key Accounts with a target of 35% YoY growth.
- Establish key customer ecosystems to enable brand differentiation.
Requirements & Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s Degree (BA/BSc) or Higher National Diploma (HND).
- At least 5 years of proven experience in Sales.
- In-depth knowledge of the Central Kenya market and its specific counties.
- Excellent sales and negotiation skills.
- Multi-cultural and multi-lingual capabilities.
- A results-driven and self-accountable mindset.
