Taimba has been working with rural small holder farmers to ensure they access consistency in market and fair prices by shortening the agriculture supply chain. We organize farmers into farm groups (co-ops) and support them to improve productivity.
The Role
The Sales Operations Officer will be responsible for managing the intersection of sales performance, fulfillment logistics, and operational efficiency. The role involves supervising the sales team, overseeing the delivery process, and implementing strategies to optimize costs and improve overall service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Operations
Ensure excellent customer service by addressing issues related to pricing, product quality, and delivery timelines.
Support training, coaching, and performance management of the sales team.
Monitor daily sales performance, promotions, and field activities.
Ensure compliance with sales processes and systems (DMS usage, reporting, collections, etc.).
Track market trends and competitor activities to support strategic decisions.
Handle customer inquiries and coordinate with relevant departments.
Support continuous improvement of sales processes and workflows.
Fulfillment
Oversee deliveries, drivers, and fulfillment teams.
Manage inventory reconciliation, returns, and collections.
Support product availability reporting and stock updates.
Monitor order fulfillment and claims resolution processes.
Process Improvement
Identify inefficiencies in fulfillment and sales processes.
Recommend and implement process improvements.
Reporting & Documentation
Prepare reports on fuel consumption, costs, and operational metrics.
Document discrepancies and operational incidents.
Efficiency & Cost Optimization
Plan efficient delivery routes to reduce fuel consumption.
Implement fuel-saving strategies and monitor usage.
Analyze costs and identify savings opportunities.
Support budgeting and cost control initiatives.
Requirements
Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Sales, Business Administration, or a related field.
3-5 years of experience in sales operations, administration, and sales team supervision.
Specific experience within the FMCG or Fresh produce (FFV) sector is required.
Strong analytical and reporting skills.
Excellent communication and team coordination abilities.
Ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
