The Sales Engineer (Wastewater Treatment Portfolio) is responsible for driving growth within the industrial wastewater treatment sector. The role involves identifying new business opportunities, conducting technical assessments, and managing the end-to-end sales process from initial audit to contract execution. The successful candidate will leverage their technical expertise in water engineering or chemistry to develop optimized chemical programs and provide comprehensive technical proposals that demonstrate clear return on investment (ROI) to clients.
Responsibilities
Conduct market research and identify new customers for industrial wastewater treatment sales.
Build sustainable relationships and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
Perform technical audits of wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs).
Prepare technical proposals incorporating clear ROI analysis.
Execute plant trials and conduct performance validation.
Successfully convert trials into long-term supply contracts.
Maintain strong working relationships with plant engineers and key decision-makers.
Develop and implement optimized chemical programs for clients.
Achieve annual sales targets through proactive customer collaboration.
Provide monthly reports on sales activity within the assigned jurisdiction.
Qualifications and Requirements
A Diploma or Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Water Engineering, Water Technology, or a related field.
A minimum of 3 years of sales experience, preferably in a B2B industrial environment.
Proven track record of sales performance.
Advanced computer skills with proficiency in MS Office programs.
Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and manage multiple tasks.
Must possess a valid driver’s license as this is a field-based role.
Experience with CRM software; HubSpot is preferred.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong team player with a high sense of responsibility and reliability.
