The Sales Agronomist plays a pivotal role in driving crop nutrition solution adoption and sales across assigned regions. By combining technical agronomic expertise with commercial drive, the position is responsible for supporting farmers, managing distributor networks, executing field trials, and contributing to overall sales targets in Kenya.
Key Responsibilities
Train farmers, generate sales, facilitate product orders, and manage a network of Distributors.
Organize and follow-up demo trials and field days together with Distributors and Partners to promote Yara products.
Apply relevant agronomic expertise to increase customer pull for Yara’s products and solutions, following up on distributor sales performance based on reports from Yara Kenya vs. sales targets per customer and per product.
Collect debts from customers within the assigned region.
Proactively inform the Territory Manager about commercial and technical developments of Yara Distributors under area responsibility while collecting information on potential new Distributors.
Report monthly sales forecast information from customers to support Yara Kenya's overall business plan.
Together with Marketing and Territory Manager, participate in Agri-Fairs and assist customers visiting Yara booths.
Support the Agronomy department in preparing crop programs to be offered and promoted to Distributors for key crops in the assigned region.
Profile & Requirements
Bachelor of Science in Agronomy.
Minimum 2 years’ experience as an Agronomist in a commercial environment.
Strong understanding of Kenya's agricultural market structure and seasonal cropping calendars.
Demonstrated experience combining commercial delivery with technical/agronomic engagement, ideally gained in a fertilizer or crop nutrition business.
Good interpersonal skills with fluency in English.
Excellent computer skills (advanced Microsoft Office applications).
A valid motor vehicle driving licence (manual gear).
Sales-driven mindset and strong negotiation skills.
Willingness to relocate and travel extensively upcountry.
