As the SAHL Banking Cluster Manager for the Great Rift region, you will be responsible for overseeing the business strategy and operational development of Islamic banking services within an assigned cluster of branches. The role involves identifying business opportunities aligned with Shariah principles, providing operational guidance to branch staff, ensuring strict Shariah compliance, and driving growth through effective relationship management and stakeholder engagement.
Key Responsibilities
Business Strategy & Development
Identify and pursue business development opportunities within the assigned cluster in line with Islamic banking principles and market potential.
Monitor and analyze product performance metrics across branches and recommend improvement actions.
Partner with Business Functions within the assigned cluster to provide excellent customer relationship management to Sahl Banking customers.
Operational Support & Service Excellence
Provide operational and compliance guidance and support to branch staff on Sahl banking procedures, policies, and systems.
Coordinate with the Sahl Product Support Manager to resolve product or system issues affecting branch operations.
Facilitate feedback from branches and customers to improve Sahl products and service delivery.
Implement appropriate relationship and customer management tools across the cluster.
Shariah Compliance & Governance
Work closely with branch teams and Shariah Compliance to maintain adherence to approved Sahl product structures.
Support internal reviews and audits by providing operational and compliance information as required.
Training, Awareness & Staff Development
Build capacity and awareness of Islamic banking principles, processes, and product knowledge among branch staff.
Conduct training and refresher sessions to strengthen staff competence in offering Sahl products and services.
Promote a culture of ethical and Shariah-compliant banking across the cluster.
Stakeholder Engagement & Coordination
Collaborate with Operations, IT, Risk, and Customer Experience teams to ensure seamless product support and issue resolution.
Support marketing and community outreach programs to promote Sahl banking awareness and growth.
Reporting & Performance Tracking
Prepare and submit cluster performance reports, highlighting achievements, challenges, and recommendations.
Track and report customer feedback, operational risks, and compliance matters to the Sahl Product Support Manager.
Requirements and Qualifications
Academic and Professional Qualifications
A Bachelor's Degree from a recognized university.
Professional Qualification: Islamic Banking Certification is required.
A Master's Degree in a business-related field is considered a desired advantage.
Experience Requirements
Total minimum experience of 5 years in the banking sector.
At least 5 years of specialized experience in Islamic Banking (Required).
At least 3 years in Relationship & Portfolio Management (Required).
At least 3 years in Sales Management (Required).
At least 3 years in Credit Operations (Required).
At least 2 years in Stakeholder Management (Required).
At least 2 years in general Banking Operations (Desired).
At least 1 year in People Management (Required).
