Responsibilities and Technical Knowledge

Applicants for Panel Membership should possess relevant technical knowledge and experience in aviation, including areas such as:

• Airworthiness
• Flight Operations
• Personnel Licensing
• Aerodromes and Ground Aids
• Air Navigation Services
• Aviation Safety Management
• Aviation Security (where applicable)

Licensing Requirements

For panels that require a license, the applicant must hold or have held a relevant license, such as:

• Pilots’ Licence
• Aircraft Maintenance Engineers’ (AME) Licence
• Air Traffic Controllers’ (ATC) Licence
• Flight Dispatch Licence
• Remote Pilot Licence (RPL)
• Cabin Crew Member Certificate (CMC)

Industry Experience and Knowledge

• At least 7 years of operational experience in the aviation industry or aviation regulatory environment.
• Practical experience in operational, or regulatory/oversight functions.
• Experience in positions of responsibility such as key management personnel of a regulated entity or membership of operational committees (e.g., Safety Committee) is desirable.
• Familiarity with ICAO Standards and Recommended Practices (SARPs).
• Knowledge of national aviation regulations and regulatory frameworks.
• Understanding of rulemaking processes and the requirements of the Statutory Instruments, CAP 2A.
