The Management University of Africa (MUA) is seeking a Resource Mobilization Officer. The job holder will deliver a full range of resource mobilization services to ensure optimal funding of projects and administrative activities, facilitating the effective functioning of the University. This role is central to building a sustainable funding base for the institution through strategic planning, donor relationship management, and proposal development.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Policy and Strategy: Implement policies, procedures, and strategies governing University Resource Mobilization, accounting for both short- and long-term funding needs.
Fundraising Initiatives: Initiate and participate in efforts to mobilize and build a sustainable funding base for the University.
Stakeholder Management: Support the implementation of resource mobilization strategies by managing relationships with donors and other stakeholders.
Donor Mapping: Identify and map potential donors and conduct periodic reviews of the donor portfolio.
Stewardship: Steward assigned donors in alignment with Resource mobilization stewardship policies and protocols.
Planning: Develop a resource mobilization plan based on existing and potential donors and fundraising mechanisms.
Operations: Manage the overall and day-to-day activities related to mobilization of resources, including monitoring and tracking funding needs and gaps.
Proposal Writing: Develop specific project proposals in compliance with both University and donor requirements.
Research: Research the interests and application requirements of main donors and provide technical advice to the Executive Director on prospective opportunities.
Networking: Establish and manage a network of donor contacts and track proposals and funds.
Requirements and Qualifications
Education: Master’s degree in a business-related field and a Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences.
Experience: At least five years of experience in Resource Mobilization with proven evidence of success.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in computer applications including MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and MS Excel (Spreadsheet).
Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, alumni, and the public.
Attributes: High ethical standards, integrity, professionalism, and the ability to work independently or within a team.
Organizational Skills: Demonstrated ability to strategize, implement programs, and manage multiple tasks simultaneously with close attention to detail and deadlines.
