Job Description
As a Reservations Agent at Marriott International, you will be responsible for processing all reservation requests, changes, and cancellations received via phone, fax, or mail. The primary objective of the role is to identify guest needs, determine appropriate room types, and maximize revenue through effective sales techniques and rate management. You will serve as a key point of contact, ensuring that guests receive accurate information and professional service from the moment they inquire about a stay.
Key Responsibilities
Process all reservation requests, changes, and cancellations accurately and efficiently.
Identify guest reservation needs and determine appropriate room types and rates based on current availability.
Explain guarantee, special rate, and cancellation policies clearly to callers to ensure transparency.
Accommodate and document special guest requests to enhance their stay experience.
Provide detailed information about property facilities, services, and room accommodations.
Utilize proactive sales techniques to maximize property revenue and occupancy.
Input and access data within the reservation system, including special codes for complimentary rooms, employee discounts, and wholesale reservations.
Follow proper escalation procedures when addressing guest concerns or complex issues.
Maintain professionalism in appearance and language, ensuring confidentiality of proprietary information and protecting company assets.
Support the team to reach common goals and develop positive working relationships with colleagues.
Qualifications and Experience
Education: Diploma or Degree in Hospitality Management or a related course.
Experience: A minimum of 3 years of related work experience, with at least 2 years of experience specifically in a 5-star hotel environment.
Physical Requirements: Ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 10 pounds without assistance.
Skills and Competencies
Proficiency in reservation systems and high-level data entry accuracy.
Strong communication skills and professional telephone etiquette.
Excellent guest service skills with the ability to anticipate and address needs effectively.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment to meet quality assurance standards.
