Job Description
Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI) is seeking a motivated and qualified individual to join their team as a Research Intern in Nairobi. This internship offers a unique opportunity for graduates in biomedical sciences to gain practical experience in a national health research environment.
Key Responsibilities
Data Management: Input data into the laboratory information management system, generate reports and summaries, and perform basic data analysis.
Sample & Participant Management: Manage sample reception and archiving, recruit and enrol study participants, and administer informed consent, questionnaires, and case report forms.
Laboratory Support: Maintain detailed documentation of study and laboratory activities, conduct laboratory testing for pathogen identification, work with genome sequencing technologies, and maintain Quality Management Systems (QMS).
Requirements and Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in any Biomedical Sciences from a recognized Institution (Mandatory).
Strong analytical skills (Mandatory).
Computer literacy (Mandatory).
Excellent communication skills (Mandatory).
Fluency in both spoken and written English and Swahili (Mandatory).
Goal-oriented, dynamic, passionate, self-starter, and team player with strong interpersonal skills (Mandatory).
High level of personal integrity (Mandatory).
