The Research Fellow will be responsible for conducting field-based clinical or public health research studies leading to a thesis defense. The role involves managing research activities within the BRIDGE network, analyzing complex scientific data, and mentoring graduate students at Aga Khan University.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct a field-based clinical or public health research study leading to a thesis defense.
Perform comprehensive literature reviews and develop research proposals.
Manage and follow up on compliance approvals for research projects.
Initiate and lead various research activities and attend BRIDGE network workshops and training sessions.
Analyze and interpret scientific problems by leveraging large amounts of data.
Synthesize research findings and communicate them effectively to diverse audiences.
Supervise and provide mentorship to MSc students at Aga Khan University (AKU).
Requirements and Experience
A Master’s degree in Public Health or a related field.
A strong background in data analysis and statistics.
Proven experience in Quantitative Research methodologies.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
A minimum of four (4) publications in public health or a related field.
Strong scientific writing skills and working knowledge of quantitative data analysis using statistical software.
Prior experience working in a health-related research environment.
Personal Characteristics and Skills
Strong leadership and excellent interpersonal skills.
Fluency in English.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and meet tight deadlines.
