Job Description
The Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI) is a State Corporation established as a National body responsible for carrying out health research in Kenya. We are seeking a Research Assistant to be based in Kirinyaga to support field operations and data management. The role involves acting as a liaison between the research team and the local community, ensuring accurate data collection and participant engagement.
Key Responsibilities
Data Management: Managing data, including accurate data entry and ensuring proper storage of all data collected from the field.
Field Coordination: Receiving and directing participants in the field and helping local participants understand the research project in detail.
Data Collection: Administering questionnaires to participants and assisting with any emerging tasks such as sample sorting.
Community Engagement: Mobilizing community members to participate in research when needed and helping the team understand the community participants' views.
Outreach: Assisting with project outreach and the dissemination of research findings.
Requirements and Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or any other relevant data-associated discipline (Mandatory).
Technical Skills: Must be computer literate (Mandatory).
Experience: Knowledge in data collection, data entry, archival, and retrieval is considered an added advantage.
