Role Overview
The Research and Development Officer is responsible for leading research initiatives and analyzing market data to drive strategic business decisions. This role involves deep dives into industry trends, competitive landscapes, and internal datasets to provide actionable insights for product development and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Research & Market Analysis: Conduct comprehensive research on mining and construction markets, monitor industry trends, and analyze competitive dynamics to support product development and overall business strategy.
Data Analysis & Reporting: Perform complex data analysis, translating raw data into meaningful insights and preparing detailed reports and presentations for management review.
Strategic Planning & Innovation: Assist in strategic reviews and innovation projects. Contribute to pricing analysis, sales forecasting, and the formulation of business plans.
Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with Sales, Marketing, Production, and Quality departments to support research projects, departmental planning, and project implementation.
Qualifications and Experience
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, Business Analytics, or a related field.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years in research, monitoring & evaluation (M&E), data analytics, or project management.
Leadership: At least 2 years in a senior or supervisory capacity.
Industry Knowledge: A solid understanding of the mining sector is highly desirable.
Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in statistical analysis and research methodologies.
Tools: Proficiency in Data Analytics and Business Intelligence tools such as Power BI, Tableau, SQL, Python, or R is highly advantageous.
