The Relationship Senior Officer - Channels role at Equity Bank Kenya is focused on driving the adoption and growth of the bank's digital products and platforms. The successful candidate will be responsible for onboarding customers, managing agent and merchant performance, and ensuring the achievement of set performance targets for digital channels at the branch level.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
Digital Product Sales & Onboarding: Sell the bank's digital products and onboard both existing and new customers onto the bank's digital platforms.
Performance Management: Deliver set targets as per key performance indicators (KPIs) for the channels in the respective branch.
Agent Network Management: Handle agent recruitment, document collection, and process approval at the branch level. Ensure agent activation and monitor performance.
Merchant & Tool Utilization: Ensure an activity rate of 90% for agents, Merchants POS, and PWE Tills.
Business Growth: Drive growth in IMT (International Money Transfer), intercountry business, Merchant POS, and Merchant PWE business at the branch level.
Product Adoption & Innovation: Promote the adoption of new digital products and execute innovative digital offerings aligned with business goals and customer experience.
Roadmap & Strategy: Manage product roadmaps and business cases for digital channel growth.
Inventory Control: Monitor and manage card stock levels.
Relationship Management: Manage key customer relationships through regular contacts and visits, maintaining an effective call program for assigned and prospect customers.
Compliance: Ensure full compliance with Know Your Customer (KYC) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) requirements in all customer dealings.
Market Analysis: Conduct market analysis, propose technology enhancements, and assess competition within the payments and financial services industry.
Collaboration: Collaborate with the head office team to achieve the overall payment business strategy.
Qualifications, Experience, and Skills
Education: A business-related degree from a recognized institution.
Experience: At least 2 years of experience within a bank, specifically with relationship management experience.
Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of digital channels business and operations; good understanding of the banking industry.
Innovation: A passion for technological innovation and awareness of global trends in digital media technology.
Analytical Skills: Ability to interpret and evaluate financial statements.
License: A Category A (motorcycle) driving license is considered an added advantage.
