Role Overview\n\nThe Relationship Manager - Commercial Banking at Absa Bank Limited is responsible for managing a portfolio of commercial business customers, driving growth, and ensuring high service standards. The role involves meeting financial targets, managing credit risks, and developing new business opportunities while coaching support staff to ensure the portfolio's performance and customer satisfaction.\n\n### Key Responsibilities\n\n#### Sales and Service (65% of time)\n* Achievement of the portfolio’s annual financial targets including Balance Sheet Growth, Revenue and Profitability, and Market Share.\n* Maintain Portfolio At Risk (PAR) within set limits to minimize potential Non-Performing Loans (NPL).\n* Driving customer satisfaction (NPS score) and growing relationships with existing and potential customers.\n* Identifying opportunities for business development and guiding product development.\n* Maintain Customer Account Plans for all customers in the portfolio to prioritize contact.\n* Conduct Annual and Interim Reviews of borrowing and non-borrowing customers' facilities.\n* Determine key messaging regarding service standards, pricing, and relationship contact points.\n* Resolve customer complaints and proactively identify products that meet customers' needs.\n* Research and follow up on target lists for potential new business.\n\n#### Business Management (30% of time)\n* Identify priority customers using Customer Account Planning templates to assess present and potential contributions.\n* Gather required information for assessing and preparing credit applications.\n* Collaborate with Assistant Relationship Managers, Business Development Managers, and Corporate Credit Managers to construct credit applications.\n* Adhere to approved policies and procedures to ensure competitiveness.\n* Ensure audit issues are closed with nil repeat findings.\n* Maintain 100% SLA adherence to agreed turnaround times.\n* Manage portfolio quality using available triggers and adherence to Risk management guidelines.\n\n#### Staff Management (5% of time)\n* Day-to-day coaching and development of portfolio Assistant Relationship Managers (ARMs).\n* Performance tracking and periodic reviews of the supporting ARM.\n* Contribute to making the bank a great place to work through 360-degree feedback.\n\n### Qualifications and Experience\n* A relevant business-related degree from a recognized university.\n* Additional professional or advanced qualifications are considered an added advantage.\n* At least 5 years of experience in relationship management within Business or Corporate Banking.\n\n### How to Apply\nInterested and qualified candidates should apply online through the Absa Bank recruitment portal.
