About the Role
Our client, a leading multinational organization operating across Africa in the financial services sector, is seeking to recruit a highly motivated and experienced Regulatory Policy & Compliance Analyst. The successful candidate will play a critical role in driving regulatory compliance, supporting policy development, and ensuring adherence to legal and regulatory requirements across multiple African markets.
This is an excellent opportunity for a regulatory professional with strong analytical skills and a passion for governance, compliance, and stakeholder engagement.
Responsibilities
Design, develop, and oversee the implementation of a Compliance Management Programme across multiple African markets.
Monitor compliance with applicable laws, regulations, licence conditions, and internal compliance frameworks.
Develop processes to ensure products and services comply with applicable legal and regulatory requirements before launch.
Support business units in obtaining and maintaining the necessary licences, approvals, and regulatory authorizations.
Monitor regulatory developments across African markets and assess their impact on the business.
Prepare regulatory impact assessments and coordinate responses to proposed legislative and policy changes.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop regulatory engagement strategies.
Work closely with internal audit and business teams to strengthen compliance and governance practices.
Support engagements with regulatory authorities and other key stakeholders.
Recommend corrective actions where compliance gaps are identified.
Experience & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Law, Economics, Finance, or a related field.
A Master’s degree (MBA or related qualification) will be an added advantage.
At least 5 years relevant experience in the telecommunications, financial services, fintech, banking, or a related regulated industry.
Strong knowledge of legal and regulatory frameworks governing financial services across Africa.
Understanding of regulatory policy, compliance management, and licensing requirements.
Proficiency in both Business English and Business French will be an added advantage.
Good IT literacy.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Ability to build effective relationships with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
Strong process design and implementation capabilities.
High level of integrity and confidentiality.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment.
Strong leadership, planning, and coordination skills.
