The Registered Nurse (RN) is a member of the nursing team responsible for providing total individualized and comprehensive nursing care to patients according to nursing and doctor’s plans.
Qualifications
Candidates must possess a BA/BSc/HND qualification.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Patient Care & Treatment: Performs nursing procedures and treatment of patients in a competent and professional manner.
- Perioperative Care: Provides pre-op and post op nursing care.
- Medication Management: Provides proper drug administration by administering drugs safely, aseptically, and correctly.
- Patient Support: Advocates for patient and family needs, or provides emotional support for patients and their families.
- Diagnostic & Therapeutic Procedures: Performs approved therapeutic or diagnostic procedures based upon the patient's clinical status.
- Monitoring: Monitors patients' vital signs, fluid intake and output, and changes in status, instituting appropriate interventions.
- Assessment: Assess the patient's psychological status and needs.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with other health care professionals to develop and revise treatment plans based on identified needs and assessment data.
- Safety & Infection Control: Ensure a clean, safe, and secure environment for patients and visitors, utilizing quality and risk management framework and ensuring that infection control procedures are followed. Adheres to infection control policies and protocols.
- Nutrition: Monitor nutritional status of patients and manages accordingly.
- Spiritual Care: Pray with patients at different points of care and provide other spiritual support as needed.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate, legible, clear, and complete clinical documentation and patient information.
- Patient Education: Provides health education to patients and caretakers upon discharge.
- Equipment Management: Sets up and monitors medical equipment. Ensures that equipment is operational, calling for repairs and/or preventative maintenance.
- Inventory: Maintains nursing supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level.
Secondary Duties
- Improves skills by attending required continuing education opportunities.
- Willingness to travel to remote clinics associated with CURE.
