Registered Nurse III (50 Posts)

This role is for a Registered Nurse III (50 posts available) within the County Government of Kitui. The successful candidates will be employed on Permanent and Pensionable terms of service. The primary responsibility is to assess, plan, and implement comprehensive nursing interventions across various healthcare services, and manage patient outcomes effectively.

Salary Details

The position is graded on Salary Scale Ksh. 26,900, escalating through increments up to Ksh. 35,380 per month.

Duties and Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse III will perform the following duties:

1. Assessing, planning, implementing nursing interventions, and evaluating patient’s outcomes.
2. Providing appropriate healthcare services, including the Integrated Management of Childhood Illness (IMCI).
3. Administering Immunization services.
4. Managing Prevention of Mother-To-Child Transmission (PMTCT) programs.
5. Providing Ante-natal care and delivery services.
6. Offering health education and counselling to patients/clients and the community on identified health needs.
7. Referring patients and clients appropriately.
8. Facilitating patients’ admission and initiating discharge plans.
9. Maintaining records on patient’s/client’s health condition and care.
10. Ensuring a tidy and safe clinical environment.
11. Collecting and compiling health data.

Requirements for Appointment

Candidates must meet the following mandatory requirements:

• Be a Kenyan Citizen.
• Hold a Diploma in any of the following disciplines from a recognized institution:
  • Kenya Registered Community Health Nursing
  • Kenya Registered Nursing
  • Kenya Registered Midwifery
  • Kenya Registered Nursing/Midwifery
  • Kenya Registered Nursing Mental Health and Psychiatry
• Possess a Registration Certificate issued by the Nursing Council of Kenya.
• Hold a Valid Practicing License from the Nursing Council of Kenya.
• Possess a Certificate in computer application skills from a recognized institution.
