Role Overview
The Regional Talent Acquisition Lead is responsible for leading the MSF Eastern Africa (EA) recruitment team by supporting the global needs of MSF Operations (including UBUNTU) and coordinating MSF EA HQ recruitment. This position reports hierarchically and functionally to the Head of Field Human Resources.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Responsibilities
Actively participate in the development, implementation, and execution of MSF EA’s HR strategy.
Develop and implement recruitment and talent attraction strategies with the guidance of the Head of Field HR.
Develop the employer branding strategy to present MSF as an employer of choice to potential talent in the region in collaboration with the Communications team.
Technical and Operational Responsibilities
Develop and implement MSF EA’s recruitment and selection policy.
Lead and coordinate end-to-end recruitment processes for internationally mobile staff from the Eastern Africa region and all staff in MSF EA HQ.
Develop annual plans, set performance targets based on needs identified by the Operational Centers, and implement using appropriate planning tools.
Map out strategic talent sources in the East Africa region through studies and research on sources of potential recruits.
Implement a data-driven approach in recruitment, based on global recruitment trends, identifying metrics relevant for reporting and decision making.
Organize talent outreach events including career fairs and informative sessions within the Eastern Africa region.
Identify opportunities for networking across the region and channel these into recruitment gains.
Ensure compliance with all data privacy policies across all recruitment processes.
Leadership and Compliance
Plan, direct, supervise, and coordinate work activities of the recruitment team.
Mentor and coach staff in the recruitment team.
Integrate safer recruitment strategies into all aspects of the recruitment cycle while building audit capacity for accountability.
Recognize, respond, and document any form of abuse or inappropriate behavior and alert the safeguarding unit.
Ensure data processing activities comply with relevant laws, including the Data Protection Act, 2019.
Proactively participate in individual performance management processes, including objective setting and evaluation for the team.
Qualifications and Experience
Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business Studies, Psychology, Humanities, or an equivalent qualification.
Experience: At least five (5) years of experience in Talent Acquisition or a similar HR role, preferably in the non-profit or international sector.
Management: At least three (3) years’ team management experience in an international context.
Technical Skills: In-depth knowledge of full cycle recruitment and selection processes; proficiency in MS Office Tools (PPT, Excel) and experience with applicant tracking systems.
Languages: Fluency in English is required; knowledge of French and a third language is an added advantage.
Additional Assets: Field experience with MSF or other humanitarian NGOs is highly valued.
