The Regional Grant Finance Capacity Building Specialist will lead the design and delivery of tools, resources, and training on grant management and local capacity strengthening topics. They will partner with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to define learning objectives, conduct needs assessments, analysis and design, create storyboards, and develop materials and toolkits for using appropriate platforms. This role involves converting complex public and private donor regulations into simple toolkits and other materials that mitigate risk, promote compliance, and build grant management capacity.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Content Creation: Develop content that simplifies complex donor rules and regulations to support the grants community in implementing projects funded by USG, Global Fund, UN, and other public/private donors, particularly in fragile contexts.
- Digital Management: Maintain and manage team sites and platforms for the storage and distribution of created content.
- Prioritization: Support the prioritization of content creation based on the needs of learners and the broader grants community.
- Mentoring: Provide direct coaching and mentoring support to World Vision grant staff and partner organizations.
- Training Development: Design, create, and revise activities and materials for in-person, online, and hybrid formats, focusing on optimal instructional delivery methods.
- Compliance Updates: Continually revise content to ensure materials reflect current global grant acquisition, management, and compliance trends.
- Facilitation: Lead training sessions in both virtual and in-person environments.
- Organizational Engagement: Participate in meetings, devotions, chapel services, staff retreats, and other required spiritual and professional activities.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in a related field (Finance, Business, International Development, etc.). A Master's degree or specialized certification in Grants Management or Training and Facilitation is preferred.
- Experience: A minimum of 5-7 years’ experience in public or private grants management, preferably within an international NGO environment.
- Capacity Building: Proven experience working with regional, national, or field offices on capacity building, assessments, and partnership strengthening.
- Instructional Skills: Experience in training, mentoring, and coaching others on complex technical content, especially grant finance.
- Language: Proficiency in both written and spoken English and French is a MUST HAVE.
- Travel: Ability and willingness to travel internationally up to 20% of the time.
- Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with the Global Fund and other multilateral donors is preferred.
- Tools: Experience with learning tools such as Adobe Captivate, Articulate, Camtasia, or Power BI is an added advantage.
