Refrigeration Technician

Java House is seeking a skilled Refrigeration Technician to join our team in Nairobi. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all refrigeration and electrical equipment within assigned Java locations are functional and safe. This role encompasses both preventive and reactive maintenance, along with basic facility repairs to support our core operations and maintain high food safety standards.\n\n### Key Responsibilities\n- Carry out preventive and reactive maintenance of electrical lighting, wiring systems, and electrical equipment in assigned locations.\n- Conduct regular inspections of refrigeration equipment to verify functionality and safety.\n- Perform basic repairs in plumbing, masonry, and carpentry within the assigned Java branches.\n- Execute maintenance activities that impact food safety to eliminate potential hazards and ensure a safe environment for food preparation and storage.\n- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair activities in the required formats for future reference.\n- Perform all tasks in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs) to minimize risks to self, others, and property.\n- Support a culture of efficiency by identifying areas of waste and suggesting improvements that lead to financial savings.\n\n### Qualifications and Experience\n- A Diploma in Refrigeration, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering from a recognized institution of tertiary education.\n- At least 3 years of practical experience specifically as a refrigeration maintenance technician.\n\n### Skills and Competencies\n- Proficiency in refrigeration system maintenance and electrical troubleshooting.\n- Ability to perform basic plumbing, masonry, and carpentry tasks.\n- Strong understanding of food safety standards as they relate to equipment maintenance.\n- Commitment to adhering to safety protocols and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).\n- Excellent record-keeping skills.\n\n### How to Apply\nInterested and qualified candidates should apply online through the Java House careers portal.
