The Recovery Officer is responsible for providing effective management of legal risks arising from insurance claims and ensuring the Company operates within the applicable legal and regulatory frameworks. The role focuses on proactive management of all legal claims to ensure prompt settlement at optimal cost, achieving high levels of customer satisfaction and cost cutting for the Company. Additionally, the officer maintains efficient communication and follow-up with third-party insurers to ensure the recovery of claim payments while meeting recovery targets.
Key Responsibilities
Provide effective management of legal risks arising from insurance claims.
Ensure the Company operates within the applicable legal and regulatory frameworks.
Proactively manage all legal claims to ensure prompt settlement at optimal cost.
Maintain efficient communication and follow-up with third-party insurers and other parties to ensure the recovery of claim payments.
Meet recovery targets and keep recovery records up to date on a regular basis.
Qualifications and Requirements
Academic Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in law (LLB).
Professional Qualifications: Post Graduate Diploma (Dip KSL) from the Kenya School of Law.
Legal Status: Duly admitted as an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya, with a current Practicing Certificate.
Industry Knowledge: Sound knowledge of operations of the insurance industry and its interface with the Insurance Regulatory Authority (IRA).
Work Experience: At least 2 years’ practical work experience in insurance litigation.
