Job Description
Role Overview
The Record Management Assistant II is responsible for executing records management, mail registry maintenance, digital archiving, and safeguarding organizational documentation at the National Legal Aid Service (NLAS).
Duties and Responsibilities
Receiving, opening, sorting, and dispatching mail.
Maintaining registers for incoming and outgoing mail.
Ensuring the security of files and documents.
Ensuring pending correspondences are brought to the attention of the supervisor and appropriate action taken.
Preparing appraisal and disposal schedules of files and documents in liaison with relevant stakeholders.
Digitizing NLAS documents for circulation and archiving.
Maintaining the registry to a high standard.
Responsibility for archiving and safe keeping of all documents.
Requirements and Qualifications
At least three (3) years cumulative work experience at the grade of Records Management Assistant III or comparable position in the public service or private sector.
Diploma in any of the following fields: Records Management, Information Management, Information Science, Library Science, or its equivalent qualifications from a recognized Institution.
Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and result.
Must satisfy the requirements of Leadership and Integrity as set out in Chapter six (6) of the Constitution of Kenya (Clearance from EACC, Tax Compliance Certificate from KRA, Certificate of Good Conduct from DCI, Clearance from CRB, and Clearance from HELB).

NLAS GRADE 8: Kshs. 52,844 x 3,703 – 56,547 x 3,703 – 60,250 x 3,703 – 63,953 x 3,703 – 67,656 x 3,703 – 71,359 x 3,703 – 75,062 x 3,703 – 78,765 p.m.
