The Radio Controller acts as the 24/7 focal point for all security coordination and communications. This role is central to managing emergency situations, maintaining command and control for routine operations, and ensuring constant communication between field security personnel, site supervisors, and management. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring tracking systems, surveillance equipment, and handling customer inquiries or complaints in a professional manner.
Key Responsibilities
Emergency Coordination: Serve as the single point of contact for triaging emergencies and networking to appropriate resources while maintaining an electronic incident log.
Command and Control: Maintain constant communication with security guard force personnel and supervisors for both routine and emergency situations.
Equipment Operation: Use UHF/VHF/HF radios, satellite phones, landlines, vehicle tracking systems, and mobile phones for operational coordination.
Surveillance & Tracking: Monitor CCTV systems and initiate emergency protocols (like shelter-in-place or lockdown). Proactively track client and vendor vehicles using platforms like 'Track 24'.
System Maintenance: Conduct daily checks on security monitoring and operating systems, reporting any faults to the Security Specialist.
Data Management: Maintain updated contact lists and residence locations for international and national staff and consultants.
Customer Service: Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and provide information on the organization's products and services.
Reporting: Complete call notes and reports; update monthly department reports by the required deadlines.
Inspections: Conduct periodic equipment inspections and routine tests to ensure operational standards are met.
Requirements and Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Security Management, or a Business-related field.
Certification: Diploma or Professional Certificate in any Customer Service course.
Experience: At least 2 years of experience working in a busy Call Centre or dispatch environment within a commercial business setting.
Technical Proficiency: Tech-savvy with strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and the ability to learn new software quickly.
