Role Overview
The County Government of Nandi is inviting applications for the position of Public Communications Officer III (4 posts). This is an entry-level professional role within the county's communication department, focused on supporting public relations, media engagement, and information dissemination activities to ensure effective communication between the county government and the public.
Requirements for Appointment
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must:
Have a Kenya Certificate of Education (KCSE) mean grade C with a minimum of C+ in English or Kiswahili and C in any other relevant subjects or its approved equivalent qualification.
Possess a Diploma in any of the following disciplines: Journalism, Mass Communication, International Relations, Communication Studies, Public Relations or any other approved equivalent qualifications from a recognized Institution.
Be proficient in computer applications.
Typical Responsibilities
While specific duties are assigned upon appointment, a Public Communications Officer III generally performs the following functions:
Assisting in the gathering of information for county news and features.
Supporting the drafting of press releases and media briefs.
Helping coordinate public events, press conferences, and community engagement activities.
Assisting in the management of county digital communication platforms and social media.
Supporting the production of internal and external communication materials such as newsletters and brochures.
