Role Overview
This is the entry and training grade for Information Assistants within the Public Service Commission of Kenya (PSCK). The role is designed to support the government's communication strategy by gathering information and ensuring it reaches the public effectively through various channels. Successful candidates will work under the guidance of senior officers to learn the intricacies of public sector communication.
Duties and Responsibilities
Content Creation: Gathering, writing, and dispatching news, official information, and feature stories.
Information Management: Managing information gathering and dissemination systems to facilitate the flow of data.
Publication Distribution: Coordinating the distribution of Government publications to ensure broad accessibility.
Training: Participating in training activities as this is a development grade for future Information Officers.
Requirements for Appointment
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:
A Diploma in any of the following Social Sciences from a recognized institution: Photojournalism, Mass Communication, Journalism, Public Relations, Communication Studies, or Media Studies/Science.
