Role Overview
The Projectionist is responsible for operating, maintaining, and monitoring audiovisual projection and sound equipment in accordance with Navy recreation and morale, welfare, and recreation (MWR) standards. The role involves setting up, operating, and shutting down digital projection systems, sound systems, and related equipment to support scheduled movie screenings and special events. The Projectionist provides reliable service in a remote, mission-driven environment on an island location.
Key Responsibilities
Operations: Set up, operate, and shut down digital projection systems and sound equipment for movie screenings and special events. Ensure proper audio and visual quality during all screenings.
Monitoring & Technical Support: Monitor equipment performance and respond quickly to technical issues to minimize service interruptions. Load and schedule digital content and verify playback settings.
Maintenance: Perform routine equipment cleaning and basic preventive maintenance. Ensure the projection booth and theater areas are clean and orderly.
Administration: Maintain screening schedules and detailed logs of operations.
Support: Support morale and welfare initiatives for personnel stationed on the island.
Requirements and Qualifications
Experience: 1–3 years of experience operating audiovisual, projection, or similar technical equipment.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent (KCSE).
Technical Skills: Basic knowledge of digital projection systems, sound equipment, or audiovisual technology. Ability to follow technical instructions and troubleshoot basic equipment issues.
Availability: Willingness to work evenings, weekends, or special event schedules as required.
Travel & Logistics: Must possess a valid passport (valid for at least one year beyond hire date) and be able to travel internationally.
Compliance: Ability to successfully pass contract medical requirements and maintain requirements for the duration of deployment. Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization.
