The Project Officer for RMNCAH is responsible for supporting and implementing planned activities and strengthening service delivery systems under the Bread for the World project. The role aims to improve maternal and child health outcomes through quality improvement initiatives and by enhancing the skills and competencies of healthcare providers and Community Health Promoters (CHPs) across supported health facilities.
Key Responsibilities
Provide technical guidance, supportive supervision, and mentorship on RMNCAH/FP (Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, Child, and Adolescent Health / Family Planning) to all project sites.
Contribute to the development of localized strategies for the integration of RMNCAH with primary healthcare and universal health coverage.
Ensure that evidence-based high-impact RMNCAH interventions are adopted and tracked throughout project-supported facilities and communities.
Provide technical assistance to CHAK Program projects to support technical excellence, data capture, analysis, and reporting of lessons learned.
Support regular analysis of RMNCAH programs to address integration, quality assurance, and scale-up of service delivery within member health units.
Participate in knowledge management efforts to document the impact of RMNCAH interventions and disseminate lessons learned.
Actively participate in county-level technical working groups, capacity building, and advocacy forums.
Build and maintain relationships with County Health Management Teams (CHMT), local implementing partners, and other stakeholders.
Compile and make regular project performance monitoring reports for the Bread for the World (BFTW) activities.
Organize targeted community mobilization and awareness sessions, including household visits, to ensure uptake of RMNCAH services.
Engage adolescents and youth to identify and address RMNCAH service delivery gaps.
Support Community Health Volunteers (CHVs) to organize dialogue sessions with local/cultural leaders and traditional birth attendants (TBAs) to address barriers.
Support the identification and segmentation of community groups for targeted behavior change interventions.
Collaborate with demand creation agents including religious leaders and community champions.
Organize and facilitate trainings for facility and community groups.
Monitor and evaluate project activities to ensure quality and compliance with standards.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual project reports and work plans.
Manage activity budgets, including processing field imprests and financial transactions.
Participate in writing new concepts and proposals for fundraising.
Qualifications and Experience
Postgraduate Diploma in Obstetrics and Gynecology or a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
Holder of a Certificate of Registration from a relevant Professional Council.
Holder of a Valid Practice License from a relevant Professional Council.
Minimum of five (5) years’ experience working in RMNCAH programs.
Demonstrable experience in implementing both community and facility-based RMNCAH interventions.
