Role Overview
The Affordable Housing Board (AHB) is seeking a Project Management Officer I. The right to housing is embedded in the Constitution of Kenya, providing that every person has the right to accessible and adequate housing. In the context of Kenya’s growing economy and rapid urbanization, the demand for housing is significant. The AHB, established under the Affordable Housing Act, is tasked with addressing this demand. The Project Management Officer I will play a key role in the technical and administrative oversight of these housing initiatives, ensuring they are delivered according to quality standards and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in the comprehensive review of project proposals, budgets, and schedules to ensure feasibility.
Liaise with technical stakeholders including architects, engineers, and contractors to facilitate seamless project implementation.
Monitor project progress on-site and off-site, ensuring strict compliance with building regulations, quality benchmarks, and safety protocols.
Prepare and present regular project status reports for management and stakeholders.
Assist in the identification and management of project risks, implementing effective solutions for potential issues.
Maintain organized and accurate project documentation and records throughout the project lifecycle.
Contribute to the evaluation of project outcomes, providing feedback for future improvements in housing delivery.
Requirements & Qualifications
A cumulative service period of at least three (3) years of relevant work experience at the grade of Officer II or in a comparable professional position.
A Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized institution in any of the following fields: Real Estate Management, Land Economics, Urban Planning, Civil Engineering, Architecture, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Project Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
Proven proficiency in computer applications.
