The Project Management Intern will act as the eyes and ears of the Project Manager on active construction and interior fit-out sites. Their primary goal is to ensure that design visions are accurately translated into physical reality while maintaining strict control over materials, timelines, and site discipline.
Key Responsibilities
- Carefully read technical drawings and explain measurements, material specs, and finishes to artisans (carpenters, painters, gypsummers) to ensure 100% accuracy.
- Maintain a physical presence on-site to monitor work quality and ensure technicians are following the approved scope of work.
- Identify site-specific challenges and consult the PM for technical solutions before errors occur.
- Provide the PM with real-time updates via photos and brief reports on daily milestones achieved.
- Track site progress against the master project timeline and flag any potential delays immediately.
- Collaborate with the Media Lead to capture progress photos and videos of technical installations for brand documentation.
- Anticipate material requirements in advance and communicate them to the PM and Procurement.
- Track material consumption on-site to prevent wastage, theft, or misuse.
- Inspect delivered materials against Purchase Orders (POs) and delivery notes to ensure quality and quantity are correct before installation begins.
- Ensure all artisans and subcontractors are wearing branded PPE (reflectors/overalls) at all times.
Qualifications & Skills
- A recent graduate with a Degree/Diploma in Project Management, Interior Design, Construction Management, or Architecture.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and floor plans.
- Fluent in English and Swahili (essential for communicating with artisans).
- High integrity, extreme attention to detail, and a problem solver.
