Safal Group is seeking a Production Engineer to lead and oversee all production and quality operations at the Colour Coating Line. The successful candidate will ensure efficiency, effectiveness, and the achievement of production targets while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities
Production Management: Oversee operations at the Colour Coating Line. Execute daily production programs, manage priorities, and ensure timely delivery against targets.
Quality Control: Monitor product standards, enforce SOPs, implement quality-control systems, and conduct Root Cause Analyses to resolve product deficiencies.
Cost Control: Manage production costs including paints, LPG, rolls, scrap, and power. Optimize utilization of capacity, materials, and manpower within budget.
Maintenance Coordination: Ensure equipment health through daily checks and coordination with the maintenance team for SSD scheduling and breakdown resolution.
ERP Operations: Drive effective use of SAP for production tracking, order monitoring, postings, and reporting accuracy.
Inventory & Documentation: Monitor production consumables, APR usage, and scrap handling. Maintain proper documentation and log accuracy.
Compliance & Safety: Ensure compliance with QHSE standards and maintain ISO 9001, 14001 & 18001 documentation while supporting 6S implementation.
Team Leadership: Supervise, motivate, and appraise staff. Coordinate toolbox talks, manage shift schedules, and identify training needs.
Technical Support: Provide technical support to teams to drive productivity and quality improvements.
Requirements and Qualifications
Education: University degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Production, or Chemical Engineering (or equivalent).
Registration: Must be registered with the Engineers Board of Kenya (EBK).
Experience: Minimum of 3 years of work experience in Colour Coating processes.
Regulatory Knowledge: Conversant with Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) regulations.
Software Proficiency: Competence in Ms Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Technical Skills: Knowledge of SAP ERP PP module.
Additional Qualifications: Tertiary level professional qualifications are an added advantage.
