Product Designer

Key Responsibilities

• End-to-End Design Ownership: Own feature design from problem framing through flows, interaction/visual design, prototyping, handoff, and iteration in production.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Product, Engineering, QA, Data, and Operations to define solutions and ship them in iterative modules using Agile delivery.
• Persona-Based Design: Design for multiple user personas (parents, tappers, school admins, kitchen teams, internal ops) ensuring role-based clarity.
• Operational Optimization: Design for real-world constraints including offline-first or low-connectivity patterns, queue-speed interactions, and older Android device realities.
• Prototyping: Create clickable prototypes to learn fast, validate workflows, and de-risk engineering before build.
• Design System Contribution: Push consistency across all digital solutions by contributing to the internal design system.
• UX Research: Lead or participate in continuous usability testing and incorporate findings into iterations for measurable improvement.
• Communication: Present rationale, trade-offs, and decisions clearly in reviews to keep stakeholders aligned.
• Technical Handoff: Maintain strong handoff discipline with clean files, component reuse, and developer-friendly specs.

Requirements

• Experience: 3–6 years of experience in product design (mobile and web), owning features end-to-end in a cross-functional team.
• Education: BA/BSc/HND in a relevant field.
• Design Fundamentals: Strong interaction design fundamentals (flows, states, edge cases, information architecture, and usability).
• Visual Craft: High proficiency in UI execution including spacing, hierarchy, layout, and typography.
• Tools: Mastery of Figma (components, variants, auto-layout, prototyping).
• Methodology: Experience working iteratively (Agile-style), shipping in increments based on feedback and data.
• Communication: Ability to explain trade-offs and collaborate tightly with technical teams.

Nice to Have

• Experience designing for offline/low-bandwidth environments or emerging-market contexts.
• Experience designing for operational tools like logistics, inventory, or field ops dashboards.
• Familiarity with accessibility standards (WCAG).
• Comfort running lightweight usability tests or field discovery.
