The Procurement Officer is responsible for ensuring the efficient, transparent, and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services for the organization. This role involves coordinating purchasing activities, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring full compliance with procurement policies and regulatory requirements to support operational needs and organizational objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Procurement Sourcing: Lead procurement sourcing efforts based on consolidated procurement plans to ensure the timely acquisition of high-quality supplies.
Supplier Management: Source new suppliers, maintain a comprehensive supplier database, and conduct periodic performance assessments and reviews.
Market Analysis: Monitor market trends and industry developments to inform better procurement decisions and cost analysis.
Tender & Bid Management: Manage Tenders and RFQs, and conduct thorough comparative bid analysis to select the best providers.
Inventory & Planning: Monitor and manage inventory levels while coordinating procurement requirements across the company to enhance purchase planning and forecasting.
Negotiation: Manage supplier relationships and lead contract negotiations for favorable terms and conditions.
Stakeholder Coordination: Consolidate procurement requirements across the company to enhance purchase planning and forecasting.
Requirements and Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Procurement, or a related field.
Certification: CIPS/CPSP certification is mandatory.
Experience: Minimum of 5–7 years’ experience in procurement, supply chain, or logistics, specifically within the Oil and Gas Industry.
Industry Knowledge: Demonstrated experience in sourcing, vendor evaluation, contract management, and inventory coordination, preferably supporting multi-site operations such as depots, retail stations, or distribution networks.
Technical Knowledge: Thorough knowledge of procurement systems, processes, and ERP tools.
Skills: Strong analytical skills in spend analysis, reporting, and cost optimization.
