Job Description
The Davis & Shirtliff Group is the leading supplier of water-related equipment in the East African region. Founded in 1946, business activities are focused on six principal product sectors - Water Pumps, Boreholes, Swimming Pools, Water Treatment, Generators, and Solar Equipment.
Role Summary
The Procurement Assistant supports the purchasing department by processing purchase orders, sourcing suppliers, tracking deliveries, and maintaining accurate records to ensure compliant, timely acquisition of goods and services. This role involves verification of invoices, vendor management, communication, and inventory management.
Key Responsibilities
Purchase Processing: Assist in preparing and processing purchase requisitions and purchase orders.
Sourcing: Source quotations from approved suppliers and compare prices, quality, and delivery terms.
Record Management: Maintain accurate procurement records, supplier databases, and documentation.
Internal Coordination: Coordinate with internal departments to understand purchasing needs.
Supplier Relations: Follow up with suppliers on order status, deliveries, and discrepancies.
Compliance: Support contract administration and compliance with procurement policies and ethical standards.
Inventory: Assist in inventory monitoring and stock replenishment planning.
Reporting: Prepare basic procurement reports and cost analyses.
Qualifications and Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or a related field.
1–2 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or administrative roles (fresh graduates are encouraged to apply).
CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply) qualification is an added advantage.
Basic understanding of procurement processes and supply chain principles.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Good communication and negotiation abilities.
