Job Description
The National Syndemic Diseases Control Council (NSDCC) is a state Corporation whose mission is to provide policy and strategic framework for mobilizing and coordinating resources for the prevention and control of syndemic diseases in Kenya. The Principal Programme Officer (Regional Offices) coordinates the provision of policy and other strategic guidance, technical support, and capacity building for health promotion, prevention, control, and management of Syndemic diseases. The role is also tasked with spearheading the strengthening of primary health care systems in the country and initiating the development, implementation, monitoring, evaluation, and review of program policies, strategies, and guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
Supporting the development, dissemination, and implementation of policies, strategies, standards, and guidelines related to Syndemic Diseases Control Programmes at National and County levels.
Supporting stakeholder coordination to account for program implementation.
Supporting counties in developing and implementing strategic plans for Syndemic Diseases Control.
Establishing functional multi-sectoral committees to measure, review, and report on the progress of the response.
Disseminating performance reports to Ministries, Counties, Development Agencies, and other stakeholders.
Convening state and non-state stakeholders to advise on disease prevention and control.
Developing mechanisms for research surveillance, monitoring, and evaluation.
Ensuring compliance with national, regional, and global statutory reporting requirements.
Requirements
Academic Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Public Health, Health Economics, Epidemiology, Medicine, Social Sciences, Business Administration, Public Administration, or related disciplines from a recognized institution.
Master’s degree in Public Health, Health Economics, Epidemiology, Medicine, Social Sciences, Business Administration, Public Administration, or related disciplines from a recognized institution.
Professional Qualifications / Membership
Must be a member of a relevant professional body in good standing.
Completion of a supervisory course from a recognized institution.
Experience
At least six (6) years of relevant work experience.
At least three (3) years must have been in a supervisory role in the public service or private sector.
